23rd Dec 2012 - Christmas Sports for Slum Children's Education Project. This time, for unavoidable reasons, neither the Jesuit premises nor the services of the Brothers were available for conducting the sports. Consequently, the childern had to forego the customary bus ride to the Jesuit Novitiate, which they enjoy. But, except for this, they missed nothing. The Alumni (those "children" who have finished school and are now in college) rose to the occasion to organize the events and did so very creatively. The venue was Patna Women's College ground. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Patna Women`s College took the lead and a committee of teachers of three colleges was formed. They organized a march, in which hundreds of teachers and students of several women`s colleges and other institutions of Patna walked through rain and slush to register their protest. They carried on the agitation for some weeks, till the police had arrested both the husbands and had, in one case, changed what was declared a suicide case into a murder case..... Read More
