ICWA Valedictory Function at the Special Homes

The function was held in the premises of Special Homes for boys and women on 18th March between 12 noon to 2 p.m.
Mr. Justice Ramesh Kumar Datta, Patna High Court was the Chief Guest.
Mr. Sandeep Poundrik, Principal Secretary, Social Welfare, Govt. of Bihar was a Special Guest.
The function was split into two parts : programme at the Boy's Home followed by programme at the Women's Home.

The programme at the Boy's Home commenced with the lighting of the lamp by our guests of honour followed by a welcome speech by the Superintendent, Mr. P.K.Tewari, after which the boys presented a short cultural programme. This was followed by Mr. Poundrik's speech wherein he praised the good work being done by ICWA under the leadership of Sister Carol. The programme at the Boy's Home ended with Mrs Alpana Poundrik giving away certificates of merit to the inmates.

At the Women's Home Mrs Chitra Sinha, Supervisor Vocational Training Programme for Special Homes, read out the annual report after which the inmates presented a cultural programme. Mr. Justice Ramesh Kumar Datta gave a very enlightening speech highlighting the role of Civil Society in community development. The programme ended with Mrs. Vandana Datta proposing the Vote of Thanks, after which the Chief Guest was invited to inaugurate the exhibition of items made by the inmates of the Special Homes.
