ONLINE TAX PAYMENT

Pay Direct Taxes, Indirect Taxes and State Govt. Taxes from home or office instantly using a computer with internet facility, 24 x 7 and obtain a Cyber Receipt. State Bank of India has enabled the payment of taxes through its web portal www.onlinesbi.com

ONLINE TAX PAYMENT


Open an account with any Branch of SBI with Internet facility and “Transaction Rights”. If you are already maintaining an account with any Branch of SBI, get Internet Banking facility with “Transaction Rights” by applying to the Branch where you maintain the account.

  1. Go to www.onlinesbi.com
  2. Click on “SBI e-Tax. Click the Direct Taxes (OLTAS) link. You are displayed Tax information Network webpage of Income Tax Department.
  3. Click the challan no. applicable
  4. Enter the PAN, name, address, assessment year, major head, type of payment, etc.
  5. Select State Bank of India from the Bank name list.
  6. You will be redirected to the OnlineSBI login page.
  7. Enter your Internet Banking User ID and Password. If your credentials are valid, you can proceed to select the account from which you wish to pay tax.
  8. Enter the tax amount and Submit the page.
  9. You are displayed a confirmation receipt indicating the status of the transaction which can be printed and also saved for future reference.
  10. You can print challan/e-receipt for your direct tax payment transaction subsequently also.
  • Click on the link ‘Status Enquiry’ under ‘Enquiries’ tab after login with your ID/password.
  • Select date range to view the transactions during that particular period.
  • Clicking on the corresponding reference number of Tax Payment transaction will display the links to view and print the challan.
SBI is also putting in place a facility for the taxpayer to pay Direct Taxes through the Internet using ATM-cum-Debit Card issued for an account maintained with any SBI branch. Payment of Direct Taxes would also be shortly rolled out at all SBI Multi Function Kiosks (MFKs).

OnlineSBI also provides the facility to similarly pay online Indirect Taxes (Central Excise and Service Tax) and State Govt. Taxes (VAT, CST, Commercial Taxes, etc.) for 23 states.
